Morning Would vs Prime Hydration
We aren’t here to knock on anyone and we have nothing but respect for the Paul’s. But we did want to compare our handpicked, elite Morning Would Formula to one of the more popular hydration beverages on the market. And there’s non more famous (infamous?) than Prime Hydration. But while we are on the topic of infamy, it does beg the question:
Is Prime Hydration bad for you?
At one point, Prime Hydration appeared to have conquered the 8 to 16 year old demo across the internet. Moms around the globe started to wonder, ‘Is this gahbage any good for the kids?’ It is a valid question. A question we hope to answer here.
If you want to be hydrated, that is, if you want hydration, then yes, Prime Hydration is bad for you. The product is a pseudo-hydration beverage.
Yes, you’ll get fluid and with enough sugar, any beverage can taste like it’s hydrating you, but is it actually? No it is not. Because after all…
What is hydration?
Hydration is the process of causing something to absorb water.

It’s not just drinking water. It is absorbing water.
With hydration, especially with athletes or other people who are serious about their health, you want improved nervous system function, muscle function, modulation of pH levels, and you want to maintain fluid balance in your cells through osmosis (1).
What electrolytes are critical to this process?
-
Magnesium
-
Calcium
-
Potassium
And especially:
-
Sodium Chloride (NaCl) (2)
Here’s the thing. If you workout hard, like a professional athlete or even a hobbyist fitness enthusiast, you are going to sweat. And what is the composition of sweat friends?

(Source)
Mostly water, of course.
But sodium comes second. If you want to rehydrate after a workout, you need to be drinking a hydration formula with sodium (in the form of NaCl). If you don’t have at least 200 mg of NaCl in your hydration formula, you are wasting your time.
This is where Prime fails. If you workout hard, and sweat profusely, your sweat is going to be mostly sodium. Then you want to rehydrate so you grab a bottle of Prime which as we’ll see has no sodium and mostly potassium. It doesn’t make sense. Stay with us for a second…
Prime Hydration Ingredients Explained
What does Prime have? Let’s see…
Figure 1: Prime Hydration Ingredient Label

10 mg Sodium.
That is not enough to do any sort of hydrating post workout, especially for serious athletes. Here's the thing they won’t tell you. There is a reason why there isn’t a lot of salt in the product. If you start putting in tons of salt in your product, it is going to taste like salt water.
While most adults and athletes may be able to get past that, a 15 year old, who doesn’t care if they drink a coca-cola while eating a poptart, is uncensored with health products. All they care about is taste.
Have you ever had LMNT? LMNT is a decent hydration product but my God if it doesn’t taste like the Pacific Ocean… we digress…
Prime has 700 mg of Potassium. It’s basically potassium enhanced sucralose water.
If you were to drink copious amounts of Prime with the understanding that the beverage is rehydrating you, you might actually create an electrolyte imbalance in your body with potassium being disproportionately higher than sodium. That is no bueno. That can cause things like arrhythmia’s and other health problems you want to avoid.
Figure 2: Dangers of Excess Potassium

Please note, this is extremely unlikely.
Unlikely is not the same as impossible. (3)
But if you are drinking Prime all the time, you should know. The electrolyte ratio ain’t great. If you are sweating like a pig, and only rehydrating with prime, some outliers could be at risk. It is at least worth noting.
Morning Would Hydration Ingredients Explained
Figure 3: Morning Would Hydration Formula

The sodium level in your hydration beverage is going to determine what you made it for. Morning Would has 200 mg of NaCl among other electrolytes (80 mg Magnesium Glycinate, 200 mg of Potassium Citrate). Morning Would is not the highest of the range for hydration because the purpose of the beverage isn’t just hydration… it’s mental clarity, it’s focus, it’s recovery, it’s quite literally, to endure…
Morning Would was designed to hydrate you in the morning, and at the same time, give you a stimulant free focus for the rest of your day. Here’s a review from a verified customer:

Most people jump straight to caffeine which is not ideal for hydration. We love coffee too, but the jitters and the late morning crashes left us longing for something more. That’s why we created Morning Would.
Morning Would Beats Prime All Day
What does Morning Would do that Prime doesn’t? Where do we begin…
-
Hydration & Recovery
-
Mental Clarity & Focus
-
Enhanced blood flood
-
Muscle support & endurance
It has 13+ more ingredients with a whole host of other benefits.
Figure 4: Morning Would Supplement Facts

To be fair, Morning Would is just on a different level. It wasn’t built to just be a hydration drink but our hydration formula is still superior to primes and we offer so much more.
If you are serious about your fitness and your focus, Morning Would is the way to go. We’d love to go through each ingredient for you but that’s another article for another day.
Conclusion
Everybody knows Prime Hydration is built on hype. They are the official hydration beverage of the UFC, they have a few sponsored UFC athletes, and some other big name super stars. These guys are lying to you if they are saying they drink this for performance. They are drinking it because they are getting paid. Logan Paul himself, who purports to drink the product (he probably doesn’t) is in the WWE (again, the target audience is kids).
We here at Morning Would would never lie to you. We made Morning Would because we were sick of what the market had to offer. Nobody ever created and all-in-one formula the reduced our daily supplement intake to just one tub (and cheaper too!). So we made it, and we love it. Not only do we think you’ll benefit from taking Morning Would, but we dare to say that you might love it, too.
